In 2013 my husband and I bought a small house in Cassine Village. The afternoon before we were scheduled to leave, we realized we didn’t know where the outside water shutoff valve was located, so I dug up the builder’s name and called to ask. The next morning there was a knock on the door and there stood Greg Goodwin. He took time out of his busy morning to show us where a shutoff valve was located on a house that was more than a decade old. Being in love with our new purchase, we never intended to sell. Fast forward a few years, the realization that the house was a tad too small hit. We bought a small lot but didn’t need to meet with any other builders because we knew the best builder near 30A. Despite my father being contractor, my husband and I had never built a home, so we were a little nervous, especially being 7.5 hours away. After a meeting and a thousand answered questions, we started construction with Greg. Both his office staff and construction crew are loyal, friendly and detail oriented, but most importantly to me, they keep a clean work area. It was a mostly smooth process, but mishaps sometimes happen. The week before we were scheduled to moved in, a toilet that wasn’t completely connected overflowed after being flushed (despite the sign reading “don’t use”) causing water to run all night. The following morning, without hesitation, Greg said, “Pull up all the floors to the front door. Get dehumidifiers in here and call Seashore Floors.” Within a few hours there was a pile of wood floors on our newly installed driveway, 3 large dehumidifiers were running, and the owner of Seashore Floors assured me that he would have the replacement flooring made and installed within a couple of weeks. It was Greg’s calmness and grace in this situation that allowed me to remain calm, trusting that the problem was going to be handled.
Working together with local vendors isn’t always that easy. It’s a Greg thing. One of the things that impressed us the most about him was his communication with his employees and local vendors that spoke volumes about the trust and dependability of Greg. Now, we get to build with Greg and his staff again, and we are so excited! How many people say that? It’s a Greg thing!

Let me start by saying that my wife and I have built 5 homes in 5 cities we’ve lived in the past 20 years. When we purchased our lot in Seagrove, we knew this could potentially be the toughest of all because we would not be there since we live in Atlanta. And I will admit I can be especially difficult to deal with as I can be a detail and control freak. So, we embarked on finding a builder we knew that whom we chose would really need to be special. We went through a lengthy process of sourcing, screening, and communicating with almost a dozen builders via phone and email before whittling it down to 2. Once doing so we drove down to meet with them personally on a job site. After meeting with Greg and getting in our car we “immediately” looked at each other and at the same moment said, “that’s him”. Greg’s attention to detail was 2nd to none, and most important his relaxed and calming presence was simply incredible. He calmly answered all our questions and concerns like they were no big deals. And let me say it was that way through the entire building process with Greg and his team. They were incredible and on top of our almost daily communications, talking and taking us through every step needed. Again, super critical as we were almost 6 hours away. We could not be happier with the home Greg and the team bult, it truly exceeded our expectations. We now view Greg and the team as family since they built our beautiful family home. I would strongly recommend Greg Goodwin and his team to anyone looking to build a home, you will NOT be disappointed. In fact, we have. We met Greg several years ago. He had been a referral from someone in another neighborhood he had built in. We found him to be down-to-earth and very knowledgeable. When we decided to build on our lot in Seagrove, we knew we wanted to go with Greg. He did not disappoint. We had never built custom before, so the process was a little intimidating.
